Two important oversize projects carried out by SCANDINAVIAN EXPRESS (June – October 2010) finished successfully on time. Our task was to deliver oversized steel elements for Julrslud and Minnesund bridges construction in Norway. Entire contract included transportation of  2 250t of steel elements in 108 transports from producers in the Czech Republic to the construction sites in the E6 Oslo – Trondheim highway corridor.

The investments was under the direction of The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Vegvesen) with NCC – one of the biggest scandinavian construction& development companies – as a general contractor. We were proud to take part in such a international logistics project.

Transport consisted of steel beams with length up to 30m and weight up to 38t (Julrslud bridge) and steel plates measuring 8m length and 5m wide (Minnesund Bridge), which were delivered on our innovative special transport racks. Thanks to this solution we have reduced  the transportation width to 3,7 meter, simultaneously we obtained faster and more cost-efficient delivery without a necessity to de-construct of road infrastructure during the transport.

Involvement of the most of our special-truck fleet (eg, heavy ballast Volvo and Man trucks and special trailers by Faymonville and Goldhofer) allowed us to carry out both of the transport projects simultaneously – Minnesund and Julrslud bridge construction. Our permanent agreements with ferry lines helped us to have all of the deliveries done on time – SCANDINAVIAN EXPRESS transports always had place on the ferries, despite the increased tourist traffic during the summer holiday season.
