The steel
foot and bike bridge, completely assembled,
is over 33 meters long, nearly 6.5 meters width
and mass exceeding 40 tones. Along with the
drawing vehicle and the trailer exceeds
the length of the entire set of
38 meters in
length.
Unusual transport gets off in the Tri-City and ends only
in southern Sweden. This means that the load must be submitted
first to Swinoujscie and then
efficiently transported by ferry to Trelleborg
from there it will get to the point of unloading, 60 km away from the
port.
But that’s not all! In addition to a number of precise maneuvers on the way we, the challenge will also be unloading bridge –
held in the Swedish city center which
requires almost surgical precision.
It is rare that the shipment of this size has been transported on public roads, and in this case the bar raised by the fact that the place of unloading is the only southern
Sweden. This means that only in Poland there is to overcome is over 500 km – says
Patrick Szymanski, Vice President of Scandinavian Express Poland, the logistics operator which
is responsible for the overall transport of the bridge.
The assist and piloting
of the drawing vehicle transporting the load will consist of 5 civilian
and official units.
The beginning of this long journey will take place on the night from
3rd to 4th November on the Hutnicza street in
Gdynia, where the bridge will be loaded. Then
it will travel Eugeniusz
Kwiatkowski street till the Tri-City ring road in the direction of Lodz.
